Lori Ovitz has more than 20 years of experience as a makeup artist working with top models and celebrities in television and film. When Lori realized she could use her knowledge and skills to help cancer patients overcome some of the side effects of cancer treatment, it forever changed her outlook, career path, and life! After many years of seeing positive results, Lori wrote “Facing the Mirror with Cancer: A Guide to Using Makeup to Make a Difference,” a guide book which she developed to provide cancer patients with step-by-step tips and techniques for dealing with appearance issues during treatment and beyond. As her specialty has always been creating real looking eyebrows for cancer patients, in 2012 Lori took her talents a step further by becoming a certified paramedical makeup specialist. Today, with advanced certification from the American Academy of Micropigmentation, Lori specializes not only in eyebrow tattooing but also in areola tattooing for patients who have undergone reconstructive breast surgery.
Lori currently practices at the University of Chicago Medical Center and at her Lincoln Park location.
